Making a Difference in Our Island Community
Giving Back — the Sailfish Point Foundation
The Sailfish Point Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to supporting college scholarships for Sailfish Point employees, their spouses, and their children as well as to Martin County high school graduates who demonstrate achievement, commitment to learning, and community service. Since its inception, the Sailfish Point Foundation has awarded more than 1,500 scholarships totaling more than $5,000,000 since 1999. Today the Sailfish Point Foundation is Martin County’s largest private scholarship donor.
In addition to supporting its employees and Martin County high school graduates, the Foundation also makes donations to a number of Martin County based educational programs such as Indian River State College and Martin Health System's nursing education.
Local Recognition — Sailfish Point Philanthropy
Donors to the Sailfish Point Foundation sponsor the program solely out of a sense of generosity and responsibility; however, the foundation has been recognized for its philanthropic efforts. In 2008, the Association of Professional Fundraisers of the Treasure Coast recognized Sailfish Point as the "Outstanding Group Supporting Philanthropy.” In 2009, the foundation received the Commissioner's Business Recognition Award from the Florida Education Foundation. Giving back is our way of showing how proud we are to be a part of this South Florida oceanfront community.
Active Participation — Sailfish Point Member Contributions
In addition, residents of Sailfish Point possess a vast amount of leadership experience. Many play active roles in many Martin County arts, charitable, and educational organizations. By assuming positions on numerous boards, fundraising, and volunteering in the area, Sailfish Point residents contribute greatly to the quality of life at Sailfish Point as well as to the broader Martin County.
