Stuart Named America's Happiest Seaside Town By Coastal Living by Lyssa Goldberg Apr 06, 2016 05:51 PM It's official. We live in America's happiest seaside town. Coastal Living magazine announced the results of its annual top 10 ranking of the Happiest Seaside Towns in America, and Stuart earned the No. 1 spot. Coastal Living editors compiled its unranked top 10 list, which was released earlier this year, based on assessments of each town's "costal vibe" and other factors, including percentage of clear and sunny days, commute times, walkability, crime ratings and standard of living. With over a mile of oceanfront, a private harbor and marina, a Nicklaus Signature course, and a premier location where the Atlantic, St. Lucie Inlet and Indian River converge, there is no better place to live and play on the water than Sailfish Point. For certain, there is nowhere else in Florida you can reach open water from a private marina in five minutes, and the Bahamas in a mere 75 minutes. Or head west for a day trip through the Okeechobee Waterway to the Gulf of Mexico. The full-service, 77-slip marina accommodates vessels up to 125 feet long. Sailfish Point’s Jack Nicklaus Signature course takes full advantage of its island location. Every hole offers exceptional views of the Atlantic, the inlet or the river. Never having to make a tee time at this very private club serves to enhance both the golf and the views. Members of Sailfish Point have a wide var... Read More

All you have to do to get there is leave mainland Florida around Stuart, home of Witham Field Airport (40 miles north of Palm Beach International Airport). Head east along A1A, on two causeways that take you over the St. Lucie River and the Intercoastal Waterway, to the southern end of Hutchinson Island. From there, just keep going south, away from civilization, across a much smaller road until you reach this island-like paradise surrounded by water. Sailfish Point Golf Club, all of 532 acres, includes a nearly equal number of residences, everything from estate lots down to condominiums. Some of those homesites line a well-protected marina on the north side of the property. The rest of this little paradise is devoted to a Jack ... Read More
